To "borrow" a video clip from a video sharing network, you’ll need to download the video and convert it to a format supported by your editing program. See below the techniques that can help you.
1. Online video conversion service:
a. http://vixy.net/ (Paste in the URL of the YouTube video, select a format, then download a converted video.)
b. http://www.zamzar.com/ (Paste in the URL of the YouTube video, select a format, then provide your email address. You’ll get a message containing a link to download the converted video.)
2. Install a Video Downloader add-on in your Firefox browser (DownloaderHelper and/or Flash Video Resources Downloader).
3. Install a video converter application on your home computer or laptop (from www.download.com).
a. Free FLV Converter – Tube Finder (basic)
b. Free Video Converter v. 2.5
4. Use the programs above to “extract” audio from YouTube video.
